Description

At the heart of a King’s education is the dual pursuit of academic and co-curricular excellence. With us, pupils develop wide-ranging interests, intellectual ambition and, importantly, self-discipline, all of which are valued in the modern global society. The King’s experience, and the skills acquired, stay with our pupils for life.

All this takes place in the beautiful, inspiring, and historic surroundings of the Cathedral Precincts, as well as in new developments such as the Malthouse theatre and Science Centre. Our staff balance high expectations with fantastic pastoral care creating a vibrant, happy, and supportive environment. Pupils enjoy a 21st century education in a beautiful, historic setting. The School combines the best of tradition with a modern outlook.

The origins of our historically rich school can be traced back to the year 597AD when St. Augustine was sent from Rome to evangelize England.

Situated in the World Heritage Sites of Canterbury Cathedral and St. Augustine’s Abbey, the architecture reflects a respectful mix of old and new, ranging from the 13-th century Meister Omers to the 21-st century New Grange.

At the same time, our teachers are relentlessly focused on equipping their pupils with skills they will need for the future. In the new Science Centre, the Malthouse Theatre and our International College, pupils learn in state-of-the-art facilities.

King’s is a school where pupils feel stretched but not stressed. We encourage children to develop an enquiring mind along with a willingness to keep learning. We offer the very best in teaching, with King’s being very much a school of choice. Our curriculum embraces the digital world, and the breathless changes in technology. At the same time, we never lose sight of what we value from the past.

Over thirty subjects are on offer, including seven Modern Languages. Sixth Form subjects include Psychology, Philosophy, History of Art, Government & Politics and Computer Science.
