Description

Elstree School is a co-educational day and boarding school for children aged 3-13 years, set within 150 acres of idyllic Berkshire countryside. We combine academic ambition and outstanding co-curricular opportunities with the magic and adventure of a proper childhood.

An hour west of London, Elstree offers a friendly and purposeful environment where children have the time and space to be nurtured and inspired. We celebrate high academic, creative and sporting achievement, with children going on to leading UK Senior Schools. Over 30% of our current Year 8 pupils have been awarded an array of Academic, Sport, Drama, Music, Art and DT Scholarships and Exhibitions to Radley, Downe House, Marlborough and Winchester. Our exceptional pastoral care and learning support teams ensure every child at Elstree feels a sense of their own worth, whichever area of school life they thrive.

A family focused school, Elstree prides itself on the care and attention each child receives. With an average size of 14, classes are small, and setting begins in Year 5. There is an emphasis on outdoor learning and with an incredible selection of co-curricular opportunities available, the beautiful rolling parkland, wild meadows, woods, two lakes and the finest sports and all-weather pitches are constantly put to good use. Indoors, the school facilities include two state of the art Science laboratories, a newly built Music School with a large performance space and a modern Sports Hall.

The latest ISI Report rated the school Excellent and said: “Elstree School is highly successful in meeting its aim of providing a first-class all-round education, while embedding the values of hard work, kindness to others and making the most of opportunities. This is thanks to an excellent curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities and to excellent teaching, which inspires and motivates pupils to want to learn.”

Buses run from London, Hungerford, Brightwalton and Reading and the school day can be extended with morning clubs and after school care provision. Our next Open Morning is on Saturday 12th October 10am-12 noon.  Click here to book your visit.
